Mission Statement — Spoken Word

[Slow. Calm. Direct. Almost conversational.]
I'm done...
Done writing poems with your name hiding in the shadows of every bar.
Done digging through graves for relationships that already buried themselves.
Done carrying lessons that were never mine to carry.
[Pause]
I talked about it.
Sat in therapy.
Paid every due.
Every scar. Every betrayal. Every unanswered question.
Paid in full.
[Short pause]
Because my love was real.
Not temporary.
Not convenient.
Not situation-dependent.
I was committed.
To the mission.
To the future.
To the family.
To the promise.
But eventually...
you realize some people don't want healing—
they want witnesses to their destruction.
[Increase intensity]
You cannot save someone
who keeps volunteering to drown.
You cannot build with someone
who keeps falling in love with demolition.
So I'm changing subjects.
Not because it didn't matter.
Because I matter now.
The mission matters now.
[Pause]
This is for the young men.
The old men.
The broken men.
The men pretending not to be broken.
Listen.
[Slow and sharp]
Everything beautiful isn't sent to bless you.
Everything attractive isn't meant for you.
Every temptation isn't an opportunity.
And every pair of fine thighs
ain't worth your destiny.
[Pause for reaction]
Read that again.
Every pair of fine thighs
ain't worth your destiny.
[Build rhythm]
One moment.
One text.
One hotel room.
One bad decision.
One lapse in discipline.
Can cost you years.
Years.
Of peace.
Of purpose.
Of respect.
Of trust.
Of legacy.
[Stronger]
Men aren't losing their lives overnight.
They're losing them
one compromise at a time.
One excuse at a time.
One selfish decision at a time.
One lie at a time.
[Pause]
Nobody talks about that.
They teach you how to chase.
Nobody teaches you how to protect.
Protect your mind.
Protect your spirit.
Protect your name.
Protect your family.
Protect your future.
[Increase energy]
Because a distracted man
is easier to destroy than a weak man.
A man without purpose
will chase anything.
A man with purpose
makes everything chase him.
[Pause]
The mission was never money.
The mission was never sex.
The mission was never approval.
The mission was never applause
from people who couldn't survive one chapter of your story.
The mission...
was legacy.
[Slow]
Building.
Teaching.
Leading.
Growing.
Lifting each other higher.
Not destroying the people
you're supposed to protect.
Not betraying the people
you're supposed to love.
Not becoming the villain
in your own story.
[Pause]
Rebuild.
Rise.
Lead.
Repeat.
Rebuild.
Rise.
Lead.
Repeat.
[Stronger each repetition]
Rebuild.
Rise.
Lead.
Repeat.
[Long pause]
Stay solid.
Study.
Gain wisdom.
Move with intention.
Show love.
Receive love.
Multiply love.
[Firm. Confident.]
And when the world tries to convince you
that your value lives between somebody else's legs...
Remember this:
Your purpose is bigger.
Your vision is bigger.
Your name is bigger.
Your legacy is bigger.
[Final build]
I walked through fire.
I lost pieces of myself.
I buried old versions of myself.
And what came out the other side—
was stronger.
I don't chase.
I don't beg.
I don't explain.
I build.
I elevate.
I lead.
[Pause]
And if that road gets lonely—
good.
Mountaintops were never designed for crowds.
[Final line. Slow. Let it land.]
One in a million.
No copy.
No duplicate.
No replacement.
There's only one...
